Gorgeous and practical pin dish

All my new glass headed pins rusted in their old school pin cushion during our prolonged wet season this year. The cushion retained the moisture from our high humidity. I think the universe felt my despair because Sew Your Way popped up in my social media feed with SiliPins AND a lovely big magnetic pin holder! Loving doing things differently

In grades seven and eight at high school in my day all girls did sewing and cooking. My introduction to sewing was all hand stitching in grade 5 and 6. I loved that but the introduction to sewing machines was scary stuff with so many rules that I continued in the area with an aim to get out of that stage of my life. Coming back to sewing as a parent was all about learning new tricks to achieve what was necessary to save money completing tasks that ensured survival in the farming world.
Then to relook again at the world of sewing with new innovations such as the silipins etc. I see a whole new world.
